About Matías

I gained my experience as a clinical psychologist in Argentina, where the University of Buenos Aires provided me with a deeply rooted psychoanalytical framework. My clinical research took place in the field of addiction and drug consumption, both in therapeutic communities and apolitical organizations.

Coming from a country in which urgency often characterizes the mental health service, I developed as a psychologist in the field of Drug Abuse. Working in Substance Abuse Treatments among different institutions provided me with an interdisciplinary framework experience, in which I rapidly found that Psychodrama Workshops gave me the most compelling outlooks. These axes have shaped the construction of my individual practice.

From a Jungian perspective, I propose an approach where empathy with the client’s conflicts and creating a meaningful project which can lead to an authentic life is essential. Also, I strongly believe that interdisciplinarity enriches the perspective that accompanies the person in his or her individuation.

I believe that suffering finds its origin and meaning both in an individual and collective way. Following this belief, and through working on treatments in group settings, I trained to become a drama actor and developed a theatre workshop. From that training, I took part in creating and performing a theatre play involving drug abuse patients and professional drama actors. This experience has enriched my work perspective, in which an artistic point of view tends to offer new ways to look into oneself.
